Services for Students with Disabilities
Johnson State College is committed to providing students with disabilities an equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of the educational environment. The Learning Specialist works with students with disabilities to determine appropriate accommodations and to maximize their educational potential, while encouraging them to maintain independence while receiving assistance. Students with documented disabilities may be eligible for a variety of accommodations and services including, but not limited to:
- Testing accommodations
- Note-taking assistance
- Sign Language interpreters
- Textbooks in alternative format
- Assistive technology
Current and comprehensive documentation of a disability is necessary to be eligible for academic accommodations. Guidelines are available on the JSC website.
