HIS-2255 Early Modern Europe

3 credits

Prerequisite: None.

This course examines European history from the medieval period through the French Revolution. We

will survey the major events of this period, such as the Crusades, the Renaissance, the Reformation,

the Age of Exploration, and the Enlightenment, while also paying particular attention to the

cultural, intellectual, and social developments that accompanied these events. While this course

is primarily concerned with European history, we will consider this history in a global context

throughout the semester. (Shared course in VSC)
