Pyschology Internships
Fall 2011 and Spring 2012
Psychology Internships (PSY 2810/PSY 4810) allow students to gain hands-on, real-world experience while completing degree requirements. Interns gain experience that connects classroom theories and concepts while enhancing resumes and portfolios. Graduates with relevant work experience (internships) own a tremendous edge in today’s competitive job market.
Internships are paired with Senior Seminar in Psychology (PSY 4770). This one credit course allows students to expand on the general knowledge gained within the psychology major via an internship experience. The seminar allows interns to process their internship and learn about classmates experiences relevant to current professional and theoretical activity in the field.
During the 2011-2012 academic year, 48 JSC psychology students interned at 39 sites offering 6,840 hours of service and quality work under the generous guidance of community partners.
